Peer Review Process
The Editorial Board of JOSRAR comprises experts and scientists in their respective research fields who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific quality and integrity.
Editor-in-Chief Assessment
Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief reviews your manuscript to determine if it falls within JOSRAR's scope and then assigns it to an appropriate Section Editor based on the research discipline.
Section Editor-in-Chief Assessment
The Section Editor evaluates whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and screens it for plagiarism using advanced detection tools. Results are obtained within 24 hours, with a similarity index threshold of 25% set as the standard. If the similarity index falls below 25%, the Section Editor forwards the manuscript to an assigned editor. The Section Editor also verifies compliance with JOSRAR's author guidelines.
Section Editor's Assessment
The Section Editor further evaluates the manuscript for originality and scientific novelty. If satisfactory, the manuscript is assigned to peer reviewers, and the corresponding author receives notification.
Note: At any stage, the Editorial Board may reject a manuscript without requiring further review if it does not meet JOSRAR standards or is out of scope. Approximately 50% of submissions are rejected at the initial evaluation stage.
Peer Review
All submissions are reviewed by at least two independent experts in blind peer review, meaning reviewer identities remain anonymous unless reviewers grant permission to disclose. The Editor evaluates all reviewers' opinions and makes the final decision based on their recommendations:
- The manuscript may be accepted.
- The manuscript may be rejected.
- The manuscript may be sent to authors for revision.
- If the manuscript contains significant errors, authors will be required to make major revisions and resubmit for re-review.
Current acceptance rate: 20%
Submission of Revised Manuscripts
When authors revise their manuscript in response to reviewers' comments, they must include detailed replies to each comment as an attachment with the revised manuscript. The revised version is typically returned to the original reviewers, who assess whether revisions have been adequately addressed. The article may then be accepted or sent for re-review.
Decision on Manuscript
JOSRAR may reject a manuscript if it:
- Falls outside the journal's scope
- Does not meet standards for novelty and relevance
- Has a similarity index exceeding 25%
- Contains technical flaws that compromise result reliability
- Lacks sufficient originality after peer review
- Fails to meet JOSRAR's scientific standards
- Receives multiple reviewer declinations, suggesting misalignment with the journal's audience
In such cases, the Editorial Board may return the manuscript to authors with recommendations to submit to a more appropriate publication outlet.
Appeal Process
Authors may appeal manuscript rejection within 30 days by contacting the Editorial Office. The appeal must include:
- Text modifications or corrections
- A concise, one-page explanation of why the manuscript deserves reconsideration
- Responses to technical concerns raised by reviewers
- Clear demonstration of the paper's scientific merit and importance
Note: For manuscripts rejected at initial stages, appeals must provide substantial new information or arguments beyond what was considered during the original review to warrant reconsideration.
Manuscript Transfer
Manuscripts not accepted by JOSRAR may be considered for transfer to partner journals for potential publication. This transfer opportunity, if accepted, requires authors to create a user account at the receiving journal and comply with its acceptance requirements. Transfer does not guarantee acceptance by the receiving journal.
